Work out or die, is what my body tells me at my age
Being thin in and of itself, doesn't mean your fit or eating healthy, or any of that. The only true measure of whether or not your fit is exercise and your endurance, and or sustained energy level.
If you're tired all the time, you're not in shape.
Like most, I've been in great shape and in poor shape, and contrast the two, and there's a big difference.
And the older you get, as your body just starts breaking down, and or not rebuilding as fast, exercise becomes even more important, in moderation of course.
I just came back from the park, did a few laps of walking, and let me tell you, even though I'm thin, I may as well of weight 300 lbs, with how I felt out there, cause I've allowed myself to fall out of shape over the last few months, and it always starts slowly, a skipped workout here, a skipped workout there, some beer here, more beer there, and so forth...not good.
And i need energy now, energy and health, I need all the energy I can get, cause without energy I can't accomplish anything when not working, and when working, the job drags on and can even become physically uncomfortable if not in good health and shape.
So getting in shape helps me, no one else but me, and or others who may benefit from my creative art, ect, that able to do when in shape, but when not in shape, I'm good to no one, including myself.

And trying to reverse 'bad shape' doesn't happen overnight, it's like trying to reverse the momentum on a train, you first have to stop the train, then put it in reverse, and build momentum the other way towards better health.

My body tells me to 'stop drinking', and to see alcohol as a poison to the mind and the body. Not the way the French drink wine, lightly, but more like how the Americans or Germans guzzle beer.
Also, my body tells me to avoid stress, mental stress and physical stress, that means not getting angry, for anger and rage stress out the heart. Also, my body tells me to avoid prescribed medications with so many side effects, that be having people my age drop out left and right, dying left and right for this or that cause, and most are on prescribed medications.
Most, if not all of the medication I need is in nature, if only man would quit altering food.

Well, right now, at this moment, all I want to do is drink a lot of water and just rest. I'm drinking less alcohol or beer, less than I was a few years ago. But when do drink, I tend to go hard, as in lots of beers at once, as if still of college age. But when fit, you tend to think you can drink more, not true, at least not at my age, it just hits you harder the next day.

Also, at my age, my body tells me that 3 good workouts a week is all I need, anymore than that and it's harder to recover.

Sometimes I wonder where all the water goes that we or I swallow, cause seems I drink more water than urinate out. I guess the muscles and tissue just absorb it like a sponge.

I wish that when you lost weight, it would also automatically make your face look better and younger.

Some times, at my age, I feel at times I have to much energy for my body.
Like putting nitro in a older car, sure, the cars internals are fired up, but can the rusty body keep up? Will the wheels fall off, will the doors hold up?
That's how I feel sometimes as a older person, Gen X, is that sure, I have a lot of energy at times, but can my body keep up with that energy?

Getting in 'real shape' takes longer than most think, especially when older.
Real life not like TV, no duh, but just saying it takes more than a few weeks, or even a month, to reverse years and years of bad habits, or drinking or diet.
The body doesn't just morph into a sculpted, cardio optimum lean machine after a few workouts...nope. I mean even athletes train for months, years, getting their bodies right before a tournament.
I was fooling myself for sure, thinking I could continue to drink, workout now and then, and remain in good shape, to include healthy organs, heart, eyes, liver, kidney's and more...I was fooling myself, but not anymore. I workout daily now, mainly bike ride and fast walk, both together, and stretch, and I'm seeing, feeling the differenct, especially in energy level.
But again, joint wear, not sure how to instanty fix that, things just wear out, it's apart of age.
Is why for the first time, I finally got a primary doctor at the VA, and will start going to one soon...but mainly cause I want some Viagra...LOL...oh ye, why not.
